黑色素细胞存在于人类几个器官包括表皮、眼睛、内耳和软脑膜。黑色素细胞迁移到这些位置的失败可解释先天性皮肤白发现协会(斑驳病)和异色症(不同颜色的并列)虹膜在华尔登布尔氏综合症以及先天性耳聋。在皮肤中,黑色素细胞合成并转移到周围的角质细胞,导致皮肤色素沉着和防止太阳射伤。

       ScienCell研究实验室成功分离了该细胞，每个瓶包含> 5×10 ^ 5细胞1毫升容量。经与纤连蛋白抗体和NGF-receptor检测，该细胞未感染乙肝病毒、丙肝病毒、支原体、细菌、酵母和真菌。
