RPMI 2650是一种人鼻中隔鳞状癌细胞系,源自1962年一位52岁男性患者的胸腔积液,该患者被诊断为鼻中隔鳞状细胞癌,这是一种罕见的鼻中隔恶性肿瘤。免疫过氧化物酶染色显示细胞角蛋白呈阳性。该细胞系具备准二倍体核型,染色体数目保持稳定,是一种特有的永久性人类细胞系。该细胞系的细胞通常较小,倾向于成簇生长,并在培养基中融合形成致密的细胞层。RPMI-2650细胞系在癌症研究和毒理学领域中具有重要意义,尤其是在与鼻腔疾病和药物递送系统相关的研究中。
