U-87 MG是一种人脑星形胶质母细胞瘤细胞系,是1966年至1969年间J. Ponten和同事从一名可能患有胶质母细胞瘤的男性患者的恶性胶质瘤中分离出来建立的。这种细胞系在神经科学和免疫肿瘤学研究中有着广泛的应用,并且是中枢神经系统肿瘤研究的重要模型之一。是神经胶质瘤研究的重要工具,尽管存在局限性,但通过结合多种研究方法和技术,科学家们可以进一步揭示神经胶质瘤的生物学机制,并开发出更有效的治疗策略。 1975年九月消除了该株细胞的支原体污染。
