HEC-1-A细胞在形态学呈上皮样,培养时形成单层多角形细胞。其表现出健壮的贴壁生长模式,这是来自实体瘤的上皮细胞的典型特征。HEC-1-A细胞的形态学特征使其成为研究与癌症进展相关的细胞行为(如粘附、迁移和侵袭)的有价值模型。从基因的角度来看,该细胞有几种与癌症生物学相关的基因畸变,包括p53和PTEN等关键调控基因的突变,这两种基因在子宫内膜癌中都很常见。这些遗传特征有助于研究子宫内膜癌发生的分子基础以及导致肿瘤生长和抵抗治疗的细胞途径。
