       IGFBP1 is also known as amniotic fluid binding protein, placental protein-12, a-pregnancy-associated endometrial globulin, growth hormone independent binding protein, binding protein-28, binding protein-26, and binding protein-25.1 The low-molecular weight insulin-like growth-factor binding protein (IGF-BP25) is synthesized by the human liver, secretory endometrium and decidua, and it is also present in human serum. It binds insulin-like growth factors IGF-1 and IGF-2 with high affinity and is proposed to act as a paracrine regulator of cell growth.2 These IGF-binding proteins are expressed at different concentrations in different tissues and are thought to regulate the activity of IGF-1 and -2.3 The gene is organized in four exons and spans 5.9 kb.4 The IBP-1 gene is a single copy gene, located on chromosome 7.5The standard product used in this kit is recombinant human IGFBP-1, consisting of 234 amino acids with the molecular mass of 25KDa.

ScienCell's human IGFBP-1 ELISA Kit is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Human IGFBP-1-specific polyclonal antibodies are pre-coated onto 8 x 12 divisible strips. The human specific detection polyclonal antibodies are biotinylated. The test samples and biotinylated detection antibodies were subsequently added to the wells and then washed with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB is used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB is catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of human IGFBP-1 captured in strips.
