786-O细胞是一种来源于原发性肾透明细胞腺癌的人肾细胞癌细胞系。 此细胞有微绒毛和桥粒,能在软琼脂是生长。 此细胞生成的一个PTH样的多肽与乳癌和肺癌中的肽相似。 这个多肽的N端与PTH相似,活性与PTH相似,分子量为6000道尔顿。该细胞系经常用于肾细胞癌(RCC)的研究,为这种癌症类型的生物学特性和治疗反应提供了有价值的见解。
786-O细胞系表现出清晰的细胞形态,是肾癌最常见的典型形式,其特征是特定的遗传改变,包括von Hippel-Lindau (VHL)肿瘤抑制基因的缺失。这一遗传特征是重要的,因为它通过影响缺氧诱导途径在许多透明细胞肾癌的发病机制中起着至关重要的作用,而缺氧诱导途径是细胞对低氧条件反应的核心。
